If you're looking to explore the Sauerland by bike, I highly recommend the Lenne Route.
It starts very close by, in Winterberg, and follows the Lenne River for many kilometers through our region. Always alongside the river, it leads through wide meadows, small villages, and quiet valleys – a route that's pleasant to cycle and offers beautiful views around every bend. What I particularly love about the Lenne Route is this blend of activity and tranquility. You're on the move, but never in a hurry. There are always spots to pause – by the water, on a bench, or simply where the view opens up particularly wide. The route is well-maintained and suitable for both relaxed day trips and longer tours. And if you wish, you can start directly from here or flexibly explore individual sections. For me, the Lenne Route is one of the most beautiful ways to actively experience our landscape – close to nature and always accompanied by the gentle flow of the Lenne River.
If you have any questions about the route or suitable stages, I'd be happy to help.
