Slate Trail in Bad Berleburg

Rock formations, old slate quarries, and quiet forests – the Slate Trail is a varied hike with a special character.

If you're looking for a more varied and impressive hike, I recommend the Slate Trail in Bad Berleburg.

This approximately 14-kilometer circular trail leads through a very special landscape: past old slate quarries, striking rock formations, and through quiet forests. Narrow paths constantly alternate with open sections along the Eder river – a tour that never gets monotonous and always offers new impressions.

What I particularly like about this trail is the blend of nature and history. In many places, you can still see traces of the former slate mining, which give the landscape its very own character.

The tour is a bit more challenging and ideal for anyone who enjoys longer excursions and wants to experience nature more intensely. In return, you'll be rewarded with unique views and an impressive trail design.
