If you're visiting us in winter, there's one place I particularly want to recommend: the cross-country skiing center in Westfeld.
I think it's one of the most beautiful ways to experience the winter landscape up here. The trails lead through open meadows, sparse forests, and over the hills – and suddenly, all is quiet. Only the steady glide and the crisp air accompany you. What many don't know: the trail network here is one of the largest in the Sauerland. Many kilometers of perfectly groomed trails await you – suitable for both beginners and experienced cross-country skiers. That's what I particularly like about it: you can start at your own pace, try things out – or be more athletic if you wish. And even if you've never been on cross-country skis before, that's no problem. There's a ski school and rental options on site, so you can easily get started. For me, the cross-country skiing center is a place where you truly feel winter – quiet, clear, and very close to nature.
If you like, I'd be happy to give you personal tips for the right trail.
